8/9/24
I think I’m in one of the busiest seasons of my life…I’m not bragging, please don’t hear that so that you can feel sorry for me or like I’m wearing that as a badge of honor. This business is some of my own doing but also just the season of life I’m in. My daughter Shanna gets married in a little over a week and as school starts back so do things around the Church. It’s all good but I do find myself shuffling through life, head down, just trying to get things done. Every now and then, God grabs my attention, reminds me to slow down and enjoy the journey.
I ran into a store the other day, needing to quickly grab a few items when I looked down and there was a kid staring up at me. The young fellow could not have been more than 5. I said hello and without hesitation he asked, “do you play sports?” I said I used to, now I coach. “What do you coach?”, soccer I said, and he asked if I wanted to play soccer now? I looked around the sporting goods store, the kid’s mom smiled and said, “sorry he doesn’t know a stranger”. Before either of us had time to react, the young man grabbed a soccer ball and kicked it right at me. I returned it and then he kicked it back, before I knew it, we were playing soccer in the middle of the store! The ball went down the aisle and another man kicked it back, a store employee joined in and now 5 of us were playing. It lasted a few minutes and then we all went on our way. Thank you, God, for reminding me to enjoy the day you gave me!

Kyle Shinault will be preaching Sunday the 18th. It will be safe on that Sunday to invite your friends you thought might think your preacher is weird!
